Creating this series of animal illustrations for Papirværk was a real joy. I was asked to draw five illustrations for a collection of kids’ art prints, and I enjoyed every phase of the process. Without a specific theme, I chose some of my favorite animals—a fox, a bear, a giraffe, a monkey, and a koala—and paired them with giant flowers ,inspired by the native flora of each animal's natural environment. For these hand-drawn, colored pencil illustrations, I worked with a very limited color palette inspired by earthy tones, with shades of brown and green taking center stage and occasional appearances of bright light blue.
